Kids Love Our Camps!

Our Daughter is currently attending the one week summer camp program at Fitzgerald Stables. She is having the time of her life (understatement). It has been wonderful picking her up each day and hearing about how much fun she has had and seeing how confident she feels. The program director, Tammy, has made all the campers feel right at home and, in addition to riding, helped them accomplish different tasks/chores at the barn. If you are considering lessons and or camp here It's well worth it!! Not just a camp or lessons- confidence builder!  —Carly C., August 2, 2017

My daughter just finished horse camp with Fitzgerald Stables this past week. It was her first experience with riding lessons and she had a blast! She has ADHD and anxiety and the staff were so kind and patient with her. She gained so much confidence and fell in love with riding. We will definitely be looking into lessons here!  —Jenny S, August 1, 2018

This place is awesome! One of my sons has gone here for 3 years running and it is the activity he looks forward to the most each year. Highly recommended!  —Mark L, July 1, 2018

My son loved horse camp, it was his first experience around horses, so I was little concerned, but he absolutely loved it. Everyone was nice and the camp was well organized.  —Desislava S., August 1, 2016

Horse Camps

Fitzgerald Stables offers a variety of horse camps for all ages! Give your child memories for a lifetime with a camp experience that is safe, educational and fun!

Summer 2021 Horse Camp

This year we will offer 2 camps: Beginner Horse Camp, and Advanced Student Horse Camp. Beginning Horse camp hours are 9-2 (half day option, 9-12).  Because camps are kept small and run by our own staff, we are able to tailor our camps to the individual students.  Our camps provide a fun, safe environment where children ride, and learn about horses.  We are a COVID compliant facility and follow our VA Governor's regulations of wearing masks at all times (except when mounted on the horse), sanitizing equipment and hand washing before and after use of equipment.

Our summer horse camp programs are for children ages 6-16 years of age.  Each day the campers will be given a riding lesson, and learn something new about horses through hands-on demonstrations and to end the day, work on a horse-related craft.

BEFORE/AFTER CARE AVAILABLE: Before care offered 1 hour prior to camp (8 AM); After care up to 3 hours after camp (not the exceed 5 pm).  $10/hour per child; $15/hour for 2 children.  Hours are rounded UP, and you must register in advance.

Beginner Horse Camp (ages 6-16):  $475/child (Half day, $375)

No experience required, for beginners on up.  This camp is also recommended for our present lesson students who are learning to walk, and trot.  Campers will be divided into groups, based on experience. Camp day is from 9:00 - 2:00 pm

(Half day, 9:00 - 12:00 pm)

Advanced Student Horse Camp (ages 8 on up): $475/child (4 days)

This camp is specifically designed for our present riding students.  Campers should have mastered the posting trot, and either have mastered or are currently working on cantering and jumping a small course.  The focus of this camp will be to continue to build each individual rider’s current skills and to work on new skills.  Students will be divided into groups based on experience.  We hope to take 1 field trip to visit a horse training facility (COVID pending).
